Watches Worn on Billions

Showtime’s Billions is both provocative and timely. Showing both the thrill and peril of chasing the American Dream, Billions gives us an inside look at the world of ultra-wealth, influence and corruption.

With many powerhouses – led by billionaire hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and well-connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti), you can be sure there are some rather fine watches on the show.

Let’s check them out:

Bobby “Axe” Axelrod may be a billionaire, but his personal style belies his status. Often dressed in jeans, pullovers, shirts, and sneakers, Axe means business and needs clothes he can move around fast in. The only clue to his taste would probably be his timepieces.

A self-made man who built an empire, Axe enjoys all the trappings of success, but keeps his look down-to-earth.

Axe has also been spotted with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. While it’s more understated than his usual Offshore watch, the classic Royal Oak is still a trailblazer among watches. First released in 1973, it’s the first luxury steel watch; its octagonal case and integrated bracelet also set it apart; and laid the foundation for the entire luxury sports watch genre. “Dollar” Bill Stearn (Kelly Aucoin) has a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to money, and that’s how he earned his monicker. He keeps the same no-frills attitude when it comes to style.
