Eric Clapton’s Rolex and Patek Philippe Watch Collection

There is perhaps no other celebrity watch collection that can rival Eric Clapton’s.

The lone three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and 18-time Grammy Award-winner, has a collection as prolific and revered as his music. So rare, valuable, and outstanding are the watches, that a number of them have come up for auction.

Let’s take a look at pieces from Slowhand’s watch collection.

First up is the watch par excellence of leaders and influential people, in the noblest of metals: the Rolex President Day-Date Platinum ref. 18206. The ice blue, roman dial matches the luminous platinum construction perfectly, it shines even on stage.

Rolex Submariner Vintage Mark IV Dial Steel Mens Watch 1680

The Rolex “Red” Submariner ref. 1860 is a highly collectible watch. It was the first Submariner to feature the date function and Cyclops lens, and the only model with red “SUBMARINER” writing, which was phased out eventually. As a result, the vintage model is highly sought out by Rolex fans.

A former Rolex Ambassador and passionate collector of vintage watches, Eric has owned some of the most rare and important Rolex watches ever. Seen here is the Rolex “Oyster Albino” Daytona ref. 6263 which was auctioned off in 2008, and again in 2015. It’s one of only four of its kind in the world.

He also has a Rolex Cosmograph “Paul Newman” Daytona with a white dial, steel bezel and black registers, worn on a fat strap, just like Paul Newman did. | Photos from Phillips Auction on Twitter and Phillips Watches on Instagram.

Eric is also a prolific collector of rare Patek Philippe watches, and have auctioned off some of his pieces.

Among them are the Patek Philippe 5790 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph (left), and Patek Philippe 3970G (right), a white gold perpetual calendar and moon phase watch with a salmon dial. The Rolex Milgauss was created especially for people who work near magnetic fields such as doctors, engineers, and scientists. Highly resistant to fields of up to 1,000 gauss, the anti-magnetic watch may not serve it’s real purpose on the stage, but it sure looks good on Eric’s wrist.
