Rapper Jay-Z is well-known for dropping the names of his favorite watch brands in his songs – namely Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Hublot. And while luxury watches have always been a staple among rap and hip-hop artists, Jay’s collection is a cut above the rest.

From classic models to rare, ultra high-end pieces, here’s a peek into Jay-Z’s watch box.

 

Rolex Daytona Ceramic Bezel White Dial Steel Mens Watch 116500

 

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116500 is one of the most coveted Daytona models because it was one of the first to sport the ceramic bezel. Jay-Z has a number of different Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watches and one can say this watch dominates his collection. He even collaborated with the brand in 2006, for a limited edition collection celebrating his first decade in the music business.Jay has famously said that it was a tour in Audemars Piguet’s headquarters that really got him into serious watch collecting. Since then, he has also led the way for AP’s domination in the rap scene.

Jay-Z has the Rolex President Day-Date in yellow gold and platinum. He has said that among his watches it’s the one that makes him feel most like a “baller”.

Perhaps because the Day-Date is easily recognizable as a status symbol, even among people who really aren’t into watches.

 

 

 

Some of Jay-Z ‘s complicated and very rare Patek Philippe timepieces. Above, the Patek Philippe ref 2499, which is considered one of the greatest watches ever made. Produced in the 1980s, this reference combines a perpetual calendar, moonphase, and chronograph. Only 10 of these were produced per year.

 

Above, the Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime ref 6300G. First released in 2016, this timepiece features 20 complications. His choice JLC piece is the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Tribute to 1931 in rose gold, which is an homage to the original design of the iconic Reverso. He always wears it with a tux and we must say, the combination looks extra classy.
