The Watches on ‘The Sopranos’

The Sopranos is hailed as one of the best TV series ever made. Centered on New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano, the show follows the life of the high-powered but constantly anxious father of two families – one of his flesh and blood and the other, a crime syndicate.

Throughout the show we’re given a peek into the affluent lifestyle of the mob bosses and the timepieces they wear as a badge of their status.

President

Rolex President Day-Date on Tony Soprano

Tony Soprano, played by James Gandolfini, was the main protagonist of the show and the de facto boss of the DiMeo crime family – New Jersey’s most powerful crime organization. The mob boss wore an 18k yellow gold Rolex President Day-Date throughout the show’s six seasons. The choice is spot on, as the Day-Date is a recognizable symbol of power and wealth.

Pasha

Christopher Moltisanti, played by Michael Imperioli, was Tony Soprano’s protégé. He rose from associate to caporegime over the course of the series. He was often spotted with a Cartier yellow gold watch. One of his picks was a Cartier Pasha and often wore it with the grid on.

Datejust

Rolex Datejust on Carmela Soprano

Edie Falco plays Carmela Soprano, Tony’s wife. Always on trend from head to toe, the Mafia wife also wore a Rolex just like Tony. Her choice was a two-tone Rolex Datejust on a Jubilee bracelet. It goes very well with her choice of gold jewelry.

Daytona

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona on Albert Barese

Albert “Ally Boy” Barese, played by Richard Maldone, had a supporting role as acting capo of the Barese Crew. He was only on the show for a few seasons but it was easy enough to spot the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona on his wrist.
