Ben Affleck has starred in a number of hit films; but he has proven more than once that he can wear many hats and do it well. The turning point in his career was co-writing Good Will Hunting (1997) and several years after, he won directing awards for the political thriller Argo (2012).
Aside from his sweet success, Ben Affleck also has the enviable task of wearing fantastic timepieces in his films. We checked out some of his watches in reel and real life:
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi
Ben wore a Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi in the 2014 psychological thriller Gone Girl. He played a husband whose wife has gone missing and whose disappearance becomes the subject of media circus. The blue and red bezel is unmistakable in the film – you’ll see him wearing the watch almost 24/7, even when he’s in bed.
Rolex Submariner Date
In the 2012 film Argo, which Ben directed and co-produced, he plays Tony Mendez, a CIA exfiltration specialist. Based on a true story, the film is set in the 1980s, where we see Ben sporting a vintage Rolex Submariner.
Rolex Seadweller Deepsea
While filming Argo, the watch that Ben was wearing might have been swapped at some point. Some of the scenes show him with the vintage Submariner as we earlier mentioned but he was also seen wearing a Rolex Seadweller Deepsea. This raised not just a few eyebrows among the watch community as the Deepsea was not launched until 2008.
Ben played Batman in the 2016 film Batman vs Superman, and true to Bruce Wayne’s character, he wore a watch fit for a millionaire – the Breguet Tradition Tourbillon. The haute horology watch retails for about $190,000. | Photo by Montres Breguet on Instagram
In real life, Ben seems to have a liking for Cartier watches. One of the timepieces spotted on him is the Cartier Calibre. The striking watch is a bit of a departure from classic Cartier timepieces, with its round case, oversized roman numerals and overall build – but the very masculine look suits Ben perfectly.
Ben has also been spotted with the Cartier Ballon Bleu. The perfectly round case, guilloche engraved dial and blue sapphire cabochon crown give the Ballon Bleu a dressy look, making it perfect for more formal occasions.
