Ryan Reynolds wearing the Omega Speedmaster Moonshine and Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon
Ryan seems to have a penchant for out-of-the-box versions of the Omega Speedmaster. While the traditional MoonWatch has always been made of stainless steel, Ryan opted for more unique iterations of the Speedy. At the 2022 Met Gala, he was spotted wearing a Speedmaster in Omega’s exclusive 18k yellow gold alloy, Moonshine Gold. Ryan also wears a model from the Omega’s very popular Dark Side of the Moon collection. Introduced in 2013, Dark Side models put a modern twist to the classic Speedmaster with an all-ceramic construction – from the case, to the pushers and crown. The whole collection, which has since grown to include other colors, is a homage to the Apollo 8 mission of 1968, where the crew viewed the moon from a never before seen vantage point.

George is a long time ambassador of Omega, and is often seen sporting their Planet Ocean and Aqua Terra collections. For dressier events, his go-to is the Speedmaster. This emulation of the original Speedy features straight lugs and broad arrow hands reminiscent of the pioneer model, while being powered by a modern caliber. On the red carpet, George brings Old Hollywood glamour with a dapper tux and the Omega Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Moonshine Gold. Back in 1969, following the successful first moon landing, the Apollo 11 astronauts were presented with gold editions of the Omega Speedmaster to replace their NASA-issued Speedmasters (yes, those that made it to the moon).
In time for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Omega recreated 1,000 of those gold watches for a limited edition release. Of course, Hollywood icon and Omega ambassador George Clooney has one of them.

While he’s not often spotted wearing an Omega watch, he made sure that his choice timepiece from the brand is an extra special one.
