Rolex is the master of small changes with big impact — that’s why their watches have stayed true to their original designs, even as they get modern upgrades.
The most recent years saw re-introductions (like the Jubilee bracelet), new metal combinations, as well as some unexpected, out-of-the-box designs. We went watch spotting to see who’s been sporting the latest Rolex watches:

The newest version of the Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi was the hottest watch of 2018. The last time a Rolex Pepsi watch was released was in 2014, in white gold, and fans of the blue-red bezel watch were happy to see it again in stainless steel. The 2018 release was well received for its Oystersteel construction (which put it at a friendlier price than the preceding model), new 3285 caliber (which features Rolex’s Chronergy escapement). The most obvious change is the Jubilee bracelet, which used to be reserved for Rolex Datejust models, and was found only in vintage Rolex GMT-Master. Photo from The Hollywood Reporter on Twitter |

Rolex GMT-Master II Everose Rolesor (2018) on Mark WahlbergWhile Rolex has offered the GMT-Master in yellow gold and white gold, 2018 was the first time they ever used their patented rose gold alloy, the Everose. Along with the much talked about Pepsi, Rolex launched the full-Everose (126715CHNR) and Everose Rolesor (126711) at Baselworld 2018. The Everose models come with a 24-hour bidirectional bezel, smartly done in Cerachrom chocolate brown and black, to indicate day and night respectively. Photo from Mark Wahlberg on Instagram |

Rolex Rainbow Daytona Everose Gold (2018) on John Mayer and Adam LevineRolex is known for its timeless watches, but the Rainbow Daytona is downright flamboyant – and that’s what collectors love about it. The eye-catching chronograph has a bezel with 36 baguette-cut sapphires in rainbow gradation. Rolex first introduced the Rainbow Daytona in 2012, available in yellow gold and white gold with diamond set hour markers. The 2018 release comes in Everose Gold (116595RBOW), and has 11 baguette-cut, rainbow-coloured sapphires as hour markers. Photos from Rolex and John Mayer on Instagram and Video from NFL on Twitter |

Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea Cameron D-Blue (2018) on Tiger WoodsIn 2014, Rolex unveiled the Sea-Dweller Deepsea D-Blue Cameron Dial to commemorate director James Cameron’s expedition to the Mariana Trench, the deepest trench in the world. With the release of the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 126660 in 2018, the model received cosmetic upgrades and a new movement. It features the Calibre 3235 for the first time, which is equipped with a blue Parachrom hairspring that makes it 10 times more precise than a traditional one. It also sports redesigned lugs and sides, as well as a broader bracelet, giving it a wider stance on the wrist. Photo from Tiger Woods on Instagram |

Rolex Wildcat Daytona Yellow Gold (2019) on UFC Champion Conor McGregorWith the success of the Rainbow Daytona, Rolex offered another bejewelled masterpiece in the Rolex Daytona “Wildcat” (116588TBR). The gem-set bezel with 36 trapeze-cut diamonds wasn’t new to the Daytona, but the dial definitely is. The Wildcat has a black lacquered dial paved with gold and hundreds of diamonds, resembling that of tiger stripes. It’s definitely a watch for those who can handle the spotlight! This year also saw the addition of a Rolesor (Oystersteel and yellow gold) model to the Sea-Dweller range. The watch has yellow gold gradations on the bezel and a yellow “Sea-Dweller” inscription on the dial. After the success of the Rolex Pepsi last year, Rolex also unveiled the blue-black bezel Rolex GMT-Master II Batman with the same stainless steel Jubilee bracelet. It has also been upgraded with the Calibre 3285 movement, which is accurate up to +2 /- 2 seconds per day, and runs with a 70-hour power reserve. Photo from Fast & Furious on Facebook |
