Neil Patrick Harris Watch Collection

Neil Patrick Harris has a knack for choosing good roles and making smart career moves.

He got his breakout role as Doogie Howser M.D. at age 16, and has since marked his career with notable comedy and musical roles. Today, he’s best known as Barney Stinson in CBS’ How I Met Your Mother and as a frequent host for major awards ceremonies.

Harris has also struck gold in the style department, thanks to his superb arsenal of slick suits and excellent black tie looks. When it comes to watches, Harris has very few pieces for a celebrity, but every piece is in the realm of legen… wait for it… dary. Check out his timepieces, on and off screen.

Harris wore several different watches on the set of How I Met Your Mother. As banker Barney Stinson, he loved expensive suits and always had a great timepiece to match. In the earlier seasons of the show, we also saw Barney wearing a stainless steel, silver dial Tag Heuer Link. Barney later switched to a black dial, green seconds hand Rolex GMT-Master II. This model comes equipped with the Cerachrom ceramic bezel, a Maxi Dial with larger markers and hour and minute hands. These upgrades make the timepiece look and feel larger than previous GMT-Master II models, even when the case size remained at 40mm.

When he’s off duty, Harris wears a very versatile Rolex Datejust watch. His choice model comes with a 36mm Oyster case, white Roman numeral dial and steel Oyster bracelet. Harris is an industry favorite when it comes to hosting awards ceremonies, having been an emcee for the Tony Awards, Emmy Awards, and the Oscars. He gets rave reviews not only for his comedic timing and musical numbers, but also for his excellent black tie looks.

Harris and his husband, chef and actor David Burtka, were spotted showing off their Cartier watch picks at the Cartier Mansion in New York. Harris’ choice is the Cartier Calibre, the brand’s sporty reinterpretation of the classic round watch; while David was wearing a Cartier Tank MC, the classic Tank’s more masculine and modern counterpart.
