The Watches of Eddie Murphy

Cartier on Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy’s Watches

Eddie Murphy has been making audiences laugh for decades with his acting and stand-up career. While we haven’t seen as much of Eddie in the recent years, he’s now all geared up for his comeback. The funny man returns to the spotlight as Rudy Ray Moore in the Netflix original “Dolemite is My Name”, and has a theater tour in the works.

Just as fun and memorable as his choice roles are his favorite timepieces. Eddie loves shiny and gem-encrusted watches, that just like his personality, are sure to catch the attention of many. Check out the favorite timepieces of Eddie Murphy, from Rolex and Cartier:

Rolex President Day-Date Yellow Gold Diamond Lugs

Rolex President Day-Date

Eddie has been wearing the Rolex President Day-Date since the early 80s. The choice of many US Presidents and diplomats, the Day-Date has become a widely recognized symbol of success, and Eddie wasted no time in collecting them after every career milestone.

We’ve spotted him with at least three Day-Date models, all embellished with diamonds on the dial, bezel, and lugs. With mother of pearl dials added to the mix, Eddie’s Day-Date watches are truly the height of luxury.

Cartier Tank

Cartier Tank Francaise and Cartier Ronde

Eddie has also been wearing Cartier timepieces for decades; and the first model he has been spotted with is the classic 18k yellow gold Cartier Tank Louis with a black strap. Over the years, Eddie has taken a liking for white gold, diamond pavé Cartier timepieces. He wears an iced out Cartier Tank Francaise (above), and a rare Cartier Ronde with a pavé diamond dial (below).

Cartier Ronde

The Cartier Tank Francaise is a descendant of the Cartier Tank watch, made more modern with shaper edges and an elegant link bracelet. The Cartier Ronde meanwhile, is Cartier’s take on the classic round watch. Eddie’s Ronde has a dial and bezel fully covered by round diamonds, leaving just enough space for the Cartier brand and the hour markers.

Cartier Santos Dumont

Eddie has also worn luxury timepieces in his films. As literary agent and salesman Jack McCall in A Thousand Words (2012), Eddie wore a yellow gold Cartier Santos Dumont. Meanwhile, in the action-comedy Tower Heist (2011), Eddie wore the sporty IWC Aquatimer for his role as criminal Slide, who seeks revenge after falling victim to financial fraud.

Cartier Pasha 35mm 18K Yellow Gold

Cartier Pasha

Much like his Rolex timepieces, his chosen Cartier Pasha is in solid 18k gold. The Pasha has a very illustrious history, having been designed by Louis Cartier himself in 1932, at the request of the Sultan of Marrakech; then updated by renowned watch designer Gerald Genta in 1985.

The Pasha is waterproof to 100 meters, but the extravagantly beautiful design looks right at home with suits, as we see here on Eddie.
