Owen Wilson’s Watches

Rolex Submariner Hulk 116610LV featuring a Super Case and Maxi Dial

With a career spanning three decades, Owen Wilson is one of Hollywood’s most successful and enduring actors. He’s best known for playing comedic roles, most notably in Wedding Crashers and Zoolander; but has also proven his acting chops with serious roles in Wonder and Midnight in Paris.

We went watch spotting in Owen’s films and discovered that he wore excellent timepieces in many of them — oftentimes even wearing his personal watches! Check out the watches of Owen Wilson, on and off-screen.

Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi

Owen owns a Rolex Pepsi with the now discontinued, but still very much in demand, aluminum insert bezel. Aluminum was Rolex’s go-to material for the GMT Master (and other sport models) for decades, before they introduced the Cerachrom ceramic bezel in 2005. The half-red and half-blue bezel is used as day / night indicator, in conjunction with the red GMT hand.

Owen has worn the Rolex Pepsi in several of his films, from The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou (2004) to Wedding Crashers (2005) and The Big Year (2011). Video from Rotten Tomators Trailers on YouTube

The green dial and bezel Rolex Submariner Hulk happens to be Owen’s favorite timepiece. We have yet to see him wear this on-screen, but it’s definitely his most photographed watch. From red carpet premieres to beach vacations, Owen seems to be wearing his Hulk everywhere, and even swims with it! The Rolex Submariner is a diver’s watch, after all.

Launched in 2009, the Rolex Submariner Hulk made a splash with its green sunburst dial and matching bezel insert. Aside from the unorthodox color, it was also equipped with Rolex’s modern upgrades: the Cerachrom ceramic bezel and the larger “Maxi” dial. Photo from Travel + Leisure on Twitter

Rolex GMT-Master II Green Hand

The Rolex GMT Master line is best known for its bi-colored bezels, but you shouldn’t sleep on the black bezel, green hand ref 116710. When it debuted in the mid-2000s, it was the first GMT Master II to feature both an Oystersteel finish and the Cerachrom bezel insert. It also introduced the GMT Master line to the larger “Maxi” Dial and “Super Case”.

Sporty and classy at the same time, Owen has worn this versatile model in several public appearances, and in his People Magazine cover (above). It also made an appearance in the 2007 Wes Anderson comedy-drama, The Darjeeling Limited (below). Video from Rotten Tomatoes Movie Clips on YouTube

Aside from Rolex, Owen has also worn Chopard L.U.C watches on film. The brand’s high-end collection for men, L.U.C. watches are equipped with in-house calibers and come in elegant, traditional designs. Owen was seen wearing Chopard L.U.C. watches in the 2011 fantasy comedy-drama Midnight In Paris, and he also donned them in the film’s red carpet premieres. Video from Woody Allen Pages on YouTube
