Tom Hardy Watch Collection

Tom Hardy’s Watch Collection

|

English actor Tom Hardy is not one to back down from a challenging role. After his breakthrough performance in 2010’s Inception, the versatile actor continued to gather praise for his work in films such as The Dark Knight Rises (2012), The Revenant (2015), and the Spider-Man spin off, Venom (2018).

Earlier this year, he played an aging Al Capone in the gangster biopic Capone, and ever committed to the role, Tom gained 30 pounds and went through a drastic transformation.

As adventurous as he is with his roles, Tom sticks to tried and true classics when it comes to timepieces. From robust divers to daily wearers, he’s got one watch for every occasion. Check out the watches of Tom Hardy:

Submariner Ceramic Bezel Black Dial

Rolex Submariner Ceramic

The iconic Rolex Submariner enjoys a massive following among collectors; and there are many variations available in the market today. One of the most popular is the ref 116610 made with the robust Oystersteel and equipped with the scratch- and fade-proof Cerachrom bezel.

This newer iteration of the classic Submariner also features modern upgrades: larger luminous markers on the dial, a Maxi case with a larger crown guard and more squared-off lugs, and a solid folding Oysterlock clasp with a Glidelock extension system.

Explorer II Orange Hand

Rolex Explorer II

Tom wears the latest version of the Rolex Explorer II, which is a tribute of sorts to the original Freccione ref. 1655 from the 1970s. It has the bright orange 24-hour hand that the Explorer II has become known for.

This modern version boasts a larger 42mm case size and long-lasting luminous plots on the dial for better readability. Overall, the ref 216570 exudes modern design while also honoring the Explorer II’s heritage.

Sky-Dweller

Rolex Sky-Dweller

The most sophisticated and complicated watch in Tom’s collection is his Rolesor steel and white gold, Ivory dial Rolex Sky-Dweller. The 18k white gold fluted bezel adds a touch of formality to the watch, so this dressier Rolex is Tom’s choice for red carpet premieres.

As one of Rolex’s most complex timepieces, the Rolex Sky-Dweller features a dual time / GMT complication, a date window, month display and an annual calendar – perfect for Tom’s busy schedule and jet-setting lifestyle.

Datejust Turnograph Blue Dial

Rolex Turn-o-graph

The Rolex Datejust Turn-o-graph holds a special place in Rolex history, as the first series to include a rotatable timing bezel. First introduced in 1945, it was issued to army pilots; and has gone through quite a transformation since then.

Tom wears the latest version of the Turn-o-graph before it was discontinued in 2011, which comes with a fluted rotating bezel, a red seconds hand and a red numeral in the date window. The Rolex Turn-o-graph remains very much in demand in the pre-owned market today.

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean

Early in his career, Tom was spotted wearing a special version of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean – the Casino Royale limited edition model, that’s similar to what Daniel Craig wore in the movie.

This Planet Ocean model is identified by its distinctive bezel, which recalls the original Seamaster 300M models; as well as the seconds hand that bears the 007 gun logo. The stainless-steel case back is also embossed with the Casino Royale logo, as well as the series number of each watch, which has a limited production of 5,007 pieces.
