Rolex Green Watches As Seen on Celebrities

The color of emeralds, nature, and money, green is a color with vast cultural significance. In the watch world, it’s associated with Rolex – not just because green is the color of its logo; but because owning a Rolex is synonymous with wealth and success.

With anything from vibrant emerald to forest green and olive, Rolex has a myriad of green watches to choose from, a number of them celebrating a milestone in Rolex’s history. In the market for a green watch? Take your cue from these stars who love their green Rolex.

First on our list is the Rolex Submariner‘s 50th Anniversary model, the “Kermit” with a vibrant green hue. Named by Rolex fans after the famous Muppet character, the first edition of this watch (ref 16610LV) features an aluminum green bezel insert, alongside a black dial.

Aside from being an anniversary model, the Kermit is notable for being the first Submariner to feature a modern Maxi dial with larger markers, hour and minute hands — giving a clear, highly visible reading in most environments.

A subtle example of the green treatment is the black dial Rolex Milgauss. The ref 116400GV, with GV standing for Glace Verte, features a remarkable green sapphire crystal over the dial.

Together with the orange lightning bolt-shaped hand on the dial and the orange index minute markers, it makes for a playful, standout timepiece. It’s not all looks though, as the Milgauss features an impressive anti-magnetism of up to 1,000 gauss. Jonah Hill, Drake, and Conor McGregor wear the Rolex Daytona that’s got many collectors green with envy. Solid gold watches have always had a special place in Rolex’s portfolio and combined with their signature color, this is simply a watch to die for.

Endorsed by John Mayer, and written about in The New York Times, the ref 116508 is one of the most coveted Rolex Daytona models around. It is reportedly out of stock in most Rolex boutiques, with a very long waiting list.

The exquisite timepiece makes a statement with a solid 18k yellow gold finish and a deep, metallic green sunburst dial that catches light in a mesmerizing way. This green color is unique to this Rolex model, making it even more collectible.

On actor Owen Wilson’s wrist and Robert Downey Jrs’s watch collection is yet another milestone Rolex Submariner, the green dialed Hulk, which is the first Rolex to feature a ceramic bezel in green. Besides the stunning green bezel, it also features a Maxi dial, which is topped with larger luminous markers and wider Mercedes hands.

The ref 116610LV has been discontinued and replaced with the newly released green Submariner Kermit in 2020, so collectors are investing in the original Hulk model, making it one of the hottest models in the pre-owned market today.

For his eighth record Wimbledon title, tennis legend and Rolex ambassador, Roger Federer, chose to wear this Rolex Datejust 41. Featuring a two-tone steel and yellow gold finish and a grey dial with green Roman numeral hour markers, this specific dial has been fondly called “the Wimbledon” by fans.

This is the perfect watch to wear on the court. Not only does it feature a slimmer 41mm case that wears comfortably on the wrist, its subtle green Roman numerals are also a nod to the green fields of Wimbledon.

Jennifer Lopez and David Beckham wear the most prestigious model of the brand – the Rolex President Day-Date – and a milestone model at that. They sporting the 60th anniversary edition, which comes with an olive green dial.

To celebrate the 60th year of the Rolex Day-Date, Rolex released the special green dial edition on the 40mm size, with an 18k Everose or 18k white gold construction. In place of the applied baton hour markers, faceted and stylized hour markers sit on the dial, completing the watch’s contemporary look.
