As the leader of the offensive, quarterbacks have the most scrutinized — but also the most glorified — position in American football. The best players in the position are sure to go down in sports history.
With such a high-profile job, quarterbacks have all eyes on them even off the field. Not that it’s a problem, as the best of them also happen to have great personal style and also wear impressive timepieces.
Some are ambassadors for the world’s biggest watch brands, others simply have fine taste in watches. Check out the watches of today’s top NFL quarterbacks:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Tom Brady has made some unbelievable throws in his 20-year NFL career. Their recent win versus the Kansas City Chiefs just gave him his fifth Super Bowl MVP award, the most in NFL history.
Tom has been spotted with Rolex and Tag Heuer watches in the past, but as IWC’s current ambassador, he wears nothing else but timepieces from the brand. His latest campaign showed him wearing the IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun, and he also owns the Miramar version from the collection.
Before becoming an IWC ambassador, he was already a fan of the brand. Fresh off his Super Bowl win in 2002, he bought his first IWC – the GST Chronograph Rattrapante. Today, he has about 20 IWC watches that also include icons like the Spitfire, Portugieser, and Ingenieur.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes has already established himself as a legendary player in his first four years in the NFL. The habitual record-breaker also recently clinched the biggest deal in American sports to the tune of $503 million.
Patrick, who has a fun personal style and likes donning prints and color, also chooses the funnest Rolex watches there is. He has a steel Yachtmaster II, whose 44 mm case, striking blue ceramic bezel and regatta countdown timer, make for an absolute eye-catcher.
He also has the celebrity favorite Rainbow Daytona in yellow gold, whose tachymeter bezel is replaced by 36 multi-colored baguette sapphires in rainbow colors. One of his more classic timepieces is the Rolex GMT Master II Batman, whose black and blue bezel and Jubilee bracelet, go with pretty much any ensemble.
Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers just clinched his third MVP award, after the recent NFL Honors show. Alongside his win, he also announced his recent engagement. Looks like Aaron is also winning in life!
Aaron used to sport a Rolex Seadweller Deepsea, which was seen with him constantly, from casual outings to formal awards ceremonies. At the start of the year, Aaron was named Zenith watch company’s brand ambassador and the face behind their newest El Primero Chronomaster Sport.
Inspired by the original watch from 1969, the new model times to 1/10th of a second and features tri-color chronograph subdials.
Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks was just awarded NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year award during the league’s official awards ceremony. Aside from excellence on the field, Russell is widely recognized for his charity and community work.
When it comes to watches, he goes for the classics: he wears a stainless steel Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with a white dial, which is a homerun with its history-rich background and effortless styling. When he’s not sporting his Daytona, he has the Rolex Datejust 41 on. His choice of the classic two-tone model with a champagne dial is a modern take on the traditional Rolesor Datejust.
