One of HBO’s most popular series is Succession, a satirical comedy-drama about a dysfunctional dynasty. Introduced in 2018, it is centered on the Roy family, owners of Waystar RoyCo, a global media, and entertainment conglomerate based in the United States. When the aging family patriarch, Logan Roy, considers retirement, each of the children engages in vicious fights to gain control of the empire.
In a world of media moguls, luxury apartments, and superyachts, there are sure to be luxury watches – and the show sure delivered. Check out the timepieces worn by the cast of HBO’s Succession, including updates from the series finale:
LOGAN ROY (Brian Cox)
Brian Cox plays Logan Roy, the founder and CEO of Waystar RoyCo and the patriarch of the Roys. His primary focus was his company rather than his family, until he decided to step back from the business due to health issues.
In the first season, Logan’s son-in-law, Tom Wambsgans, gifted him a Patek Philippe watch. “It’s incredibly accurate,” Tom tells Logan when he finally hands it over. “Every time you look at it, it tells you exactly how rich you are.”
We also spotted Logan wearing a Breguet Classique — a sophisticated dress watch with an ultra-slim profile, a polished white gold construction, and a hand-engraved silver dial, adorned with black Roman numerals. With its elegant lines and streamlined style, the two-hand watch perfectly matches the titan’s tailored looks.
In the fourth and final season of Succession, we saw patriarch Logan Roy wearing a white gold dress watch with a tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The show’s property master, Monica Jacobs, has mentioned that Logan wears Breguet, Jaeger LeCoultre, and Carl F. Bucherer timepieces — and the watch may just be the Jaeger LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Jewellery Tourbillon. Images from Succession on Instagram and Sotheby’s (Jaeger LeCoultre)
KENDALL ROY (Jeremy Strong)
Kendall Roy is Logan’s second-oldest son and is set to lead Waystar when Logan retires. However, he has yet to gain the full trust of his father. We see two sides of Kendall on the show — one who is either overly ambitious, or utterly crumbling in his father’s shadow. The heir apparent wears two ultra high-end watches that exude an air of power – the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 and the Vacheron Constantin Harmony Monopusher Chronograph.
Launched in 2006, the coveted Nautilus 5711 pairs the sailing-inspired watch with a gradient blue dial and an all-steel construction. Well-loved for its sporty appeal, it’s considered by many to be the ultimate luxury sports watch to own. Meanwhile, the Harmony Monopusher features the most elegant form of the chronograph in a sophisticated rose gold cushion case. Photos from Sotheby’s and Succession on Instagram
In Season 4 of Succession, Kendall switched from classically-styled watches to an avant-garde piece: a Richard Mille RM 67-01 Extraflat, which is a foreshadowing of upcoming changes in the business and the Roy family.
SIOBHAN ROY aka SHIV (Sarah Snook)
Sarah Snook plays Siobhan “Shiv” Roy, a media heiress and Logan Roy’s only daughter. She is also a political strategist, placing her in two fields dominated by men. We see her wearing two excellent Cartier timepieces in different shapes and styles.
First is the Cartier Pasha in rose gold, whose lustrous aesthetic gives a striking contrast to her sharp looks. The shiny finish and silver dial give the watch a youthful appeal, while the blue cabochon crown at the right adds a pop of color.
She also wears the gold and steel versions of the Cartier Panthere. Powered by a quartz movement, it has a no-nonsense look that fits well with casual to formal settings – a must for a go-getter like Shiv. Photos from Succession on Instagram
Shiv was partial to Cartier throughout the previous seasons, and like Kendall, she decided to change things up a bit for Season 4. She was spotted with a Chopard Happy Sport Automatic watch. That said, Shiv decided to go with another famous jewelry maker in Chopard, as well as a metal link bracelet that she used to enjoy in the Panthére.
TOM WAMBSGANS (Matthew Macfadyen)
Shiv’s husband, Tom Wambsgans, constantly seeks approval from the patriarch and the family, sometimes humiliating himself in the process. He does make up for it with a sleek sense of style and good taste.
He’s a clear Cartier guy much like his wife – we’ve seen him with a Cartier Drive, Ballon Bleu, and Santos in steel. His Cartier Drive offers unmatched wrist presence, with its sleek build, guilloché dial, and automotive-inspired details. In the pilot episode, Tom was also spotted with a handsome Panerai Luminor Marina. Its rugged titanium construction and legible black dial make it perfect for Tom’s sleek style. Just as Shiv has taken a break from Cartier, so has her husband Tom, who was seen wearing another stainless steel icon: the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph. His choice is a 41mm model with a blue Tapisserie dial and silver subdials. This model (ref ) was first launched in 2017 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Royal Oak. ROMAN ROY (Kieran Culkin)
Roman Roy is the youngest among the Roy children. The blunt and sarcastic young heir exudes the bravado and cockiness his father looks for in a successor, but his immaturity and lack of focus have kept him from advancing within the company.
Despite his boldness, Roman wears an understated Rolex Datejust 41 in steel. The wearable watch features an Oyster bracelet and a smooth bezel, which are complemented by a versatile slate gray dial. Photos from Succession on Instagram
Roman Roy loves his no-nonsense timepieces, and while he did take a break from the Rolex Datejust. In an interview with property master Monica Jacobs, she explained that the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XX on Roman was a signaling of “spreading his wings in a way.” He wears a classic blue dial edition of the pilot’s watch.
GREG HIRSCH aka COUSIN GREG (Nicholas Braun)
Nicholas Braun plays Greg Hirsch, the cousin of the Roy siblings. Tom hires him as his executive assistant and later gets caught up in the shadier side of the Waystar RoyCo business.
His naïve side gets the better of him when he falls for an overpriced steel Rolex Submariner. He made a great choice nonetheless – given Cousin Greg’s towering height, the Super Case and the utilitarian aesthetic of the Sub are a great fit. Photos from Succession on Instagram
In the final season, cousin Greg joined Roman in the IWC camp with a Pilot’s Watch Chronograph ref. IW388102. He wore a sunburst blue dial edition of the robust and precise chronograph.
