The Daytona 116509, launched in 2016, is a playful take on the classic Daytona. It bears the Daytona‘s signature traits – the Oyster case, tachymeter bezel, screw-down pushers, and three-piece Oyster bracelet – but the most significant change for this timepiece is the addition of a blue sunburst dial. It also features a panda dial often seen on chronographs, but instead of white, the 116519 Daytona uses a steel backing with black counters, and applied hour markers and hands coated with Chromalight, Rolex‘s longer-lasting luminescence.

On the outside, it’s crafted from black elastomer, a material that is resistant to harsh conditions; inside sits a metal blade that ensures the bracelet’s sturdiness. With the two combined, the Oysterflex boasts of the same durability as a metal bracelet with the comfort of a rubber strap.
