How the Rolex Day-Date Became\u00a0“The President”<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Before it became the \u201cPresident\u2019s Watch\u201d the Rolex President<\/a> Day Date already caused a sensation when it was launched in 1956.<\/p>\n

It symbolized the pinnacle of Rolex\u2019s watchmaking prowess \u2013 after numerous innovations in the previous decades, the Rolex Day-Date asserted its universal nature by becoming the first waterproof and self-winding chronometer to indicate the day of the week in 26 different languages. This, on top of other elements that make it a Rolex.<\/p>\n

Numerous improvements were made throughout the years (such as the \u201cQuick Set\u201d feature in the 1970\u2019s, and the improved solid links on the bracelet in the 2000\u2019s), but its design has remained timeless.<\/p>\n

Over the years, it will also be proven that several US Presidents indeed proudly\u00a0wore the Rolex Day-Date<\/a> aside from Johnson \u2013 including Kennedy, Ford, Reagan, Nixon to Roosevelt – and even world leaders like the Dalai Lama.<\/p>\n
