Omega has been a large part of the James Bond franchise, having been the secret agent’s choice watch brand since 1995. Of course, Bond also wore other brands such as Breitling and Gruen, and most prominently Rolex, but Omega is top of mind when it comes to James Bond’s timepiece.<\/p>\n

We reviewed the complete list of James Bond’s Omega watches<\/a> before, but for this article, we’d like to zero in on his watches in 2006’s\u00a0Casino Royale<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We believe that not only is Casino Royale<\/em> Daniel Craig\u2019s best performance as the iconic James Bond, but possibly the best film in the 25-film canon. Even if you don\u2019t agree with that, we can all agree that it’s at least in the top 5 ranking, right?<\/p>\n

Starting in 1995 with Pierce Brosnan\u2019s GoldenEye<\/em>, James Bond switched from the literary and film preference for Rolex timepieces to Omega Seamaster watches in every film. In total, ten different watches have been used in all nine movies under the Brosnan and Craig eras, with the same watches being used three times in 1997, 1999, and 2002 movies.<\/p>\n

More often than not, James Bond\u2019s watch has been adapted to feature extras for his missions like lasers and detonators, but Craig\u2019s watches in Casino Royale<\/em> mark the first time since the 1960s that James Bond\u2019s watch isn\u2019t a weapon. Daniel Craig\u2019s Bond features the watch solely for its beauty and mechanics. Let’s check them out:<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll first spot this watch on 007\u2019s wrist in the opening scene of the movie as he steps out of the ocean in his blue swimming trunks. Later on, you can see it on his wrist as he\u2019s speaking to Vesper Lynd played by Eva Green. She tries to guess at the brand of his watch as a Rolex and he corrects her that it\u2019s an Omega.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>It features again during a poker game in Montenegro with the antagonist, Le Chiffre. This scene just goes to show how easily this luxury timepiece shifts from daywear on a train or a beach, to tuxedos and high-stakes poker. The watch is visible on his wrist in several other scenes throughout the movie, including the final scene as he sails away with Vesper.<\/p>\n

The reference 2220.80.00 is part of the Seamaster 300M Diver family of watches which was first introduced in 1993. It is most recognized for its scalloped bezel and wave pattern dial, which appears in most of the countless iterations of the collection.<\/p>\n
