By now, you\u2019re probably familiar with the plethora of names for rose gold: pink gold, red gold, king gold, and even the obscure \u201cMagic Gold\u201d, but we\u2019re sure you\u2019ll agree \u2013 none of them stand out as much as Rolex\u2019s\u00a0Everose.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fancy name aside, there are a few key factors that set the Rolex Everose apart\u00a0from the pack. Here\u2019s what makes it so special:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

1. It is made in Rolex\u2019s in-house foundry.\u00a0<\/strong>During\u00a0Patrick Heiniger’s leadership\u00a0at Rolex from 1992-2008, they pursued to own every part of the\u00a0manufacturing process (instead of sourcing from suppliers).\u00a0They began by manufacturing solid-link bracelets and eventually\u00a0developed their own foundry in the early 2000\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Today, Rolex creates the 18k gold alloys used for its watches \u2013 yellow gold, white gold, and Everose gold.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2. It has a mix of platinum,\u00a0which holds the color for years, hence the name\u00a0Ever-rose.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Rose gold is created by mixing gold with copper, which gives it its reddish hue. However, exposure to elements (such as UV rays or saltwater) causes the copper to\u00a0fade eventually.<\/p>\n

To counter this, Rolex mixes\u00a0platinum<\/em>\u00a0into its rose gold alloy. Platinum holds the copper in, ensuring that the rose gold color stays as beautiful as when you first bought it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

3. Rolex made sure it appealed to both men and women.\u00a0<\/strong>With a name like\u00a0Everose<\/em>, many would think it was especially made for ladies watch<\/a>es. But Rolex was keen on making sure it appealed to both sexes. It launched the Everose in 2005, with\u00a0a watch that has a masculine reputation \u2013 the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona<\/a> ref 116505.<\/p>\n

Today, the Everose is used in sports models like the Yachtmaster<\/a>, and\u00a0just this year, the Rolex GMT-Master<\/a> II.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
