In the world of art, literature, music, and film, there are only a few who can be considered icons, whose work and principles continue to influence those who came after them.<\/p>\n

They arrived there through a combination of talent, vision, and technique \u2013 the same elements it takes to be a master at watchmaking. No wonder these icons have a good appreciation of timepieces and always had a fine watch on their wrists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pablo Picasso<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Pablo Picasso\u00a0is widely considered as the most important artist of the 20<\/span>th\u00a0<\/sup>century, whose work heavily influenced modern and contemporary art. While he was known for radical, anti-symmetrical work, he preferred perfectly balanced and classic timepieces. He wore a stainless steel\u00a0<\/span>Rolex GMT-Master<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>from the 1960s.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ernest Hemingway<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Who hasn\u2019t read at least one novel of\u00a0Ernest Hemingway<\/strong>? The novelist, journalist and Nobel Prize winner was an incredibly complex man;\u00a0counting boxing, bullfighting, cocktails,\u00a0and travelling among his many pursuits. As colorful as his life was, he always had a reliable watch: his 1950\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>Rolex Oyster Perpetual<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0in 18k gold with a leather bracelet.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Andy Warhol<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Andy Warhol\u00a0may have led the colorful pop art movement, but he preferred his timepieces simple and timeless. He was quite outspoken about\u00a0his love of the\u00a0<\/span>Cartier Tank<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, and was quoted as saying \u201cI don’t wear a Tank to tell the time. In fact, I never wind it. I wear a Tank because it’s the watch to wear.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
