This model delivers a fresh perspective on the iconic Moonwatch aesthetic with the combination of a solid 18k yellow gold case and polished dark blue ceramic bezel and dial. Tying the theme together are strategically placed gold touches: the\u00a0tachymeter scale in Ceragold\u2122, indexes and hour-minute “Moon” hands\u00a0coated in\u00a0Super-LumiNova, and the\u00a0seconds hand with a gold-plated red tip.<\/p>\n

It pays homage to the Apollo 17 mission with cleverly incorporated details. Below the Omega Speedmaster logo is \u201c05:34 GMT\u201d printed in red, in reference to the actual time the final step was made on the moon. There’s also a gold representation of the God Apollo, the moon, and the number 17 on the 9 o’clock subdial.<\/p>\n

Finally, the outer caseback is\u00a0engraved with \u201c45th ANNIVERSARY\u201d, \u201cLimited Edition\u201d and the watch’s production number, out of 272.<\/p>\n

Inside beats the famous manual-wind\u00a0Omega Caliber 1861, a descendant of the famous caliber that was worn on the moon. A brown leather strap with an 18k yellow gold foldover clasp ties the whole look together.<\/p>\n
