In the case of the Rolex \u2018Red\u2019 Submariner<\/a>, it\u2019s the red Submariner writing. The highly prized Sub is one to collect, but even if you don\u2019t plan on getting one, it\u2019s thrilling to be in on secrets only Rolex lovers know.

The Rolex \u2018Red\u2019 Submariners are actually part of the production of ref 1680, which was introduced in the late 1960s.\u00a0It was the first Rolex Submariner to come with a date; but the reason that this\u00a0reference is coveted among collectors is because of the wide variety of its variations \u2013 7 to be exact.The dials are labeled\u00a0Mark I to Mark VIII.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

– The Mark I \u2013 VI versions have SUBMARINER in red writing.\u00a0The Mark II and III are often categorized together because of similarities<\/div>\n
– Meanwhile, the Mark VII and VIII have the text in white.<\/div>\n

What is used to determine these dial versions are the feet indication right below the SUBMARINER writing. Let\u2019s check them out:
