Superheated to 20,000 degrees Celsius in a plasma chamber, the incredibly resilient ceramic case is kept to a highly wearable 12.97 mm thickness.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The first thing that stops you in your tracks is the skeletonized grey anodized aluminum dial. Instead of using standard printing techniques, Omega used high-precision laser ablation to carve a three-dimensional representation of the moon’s surface directly into the movement’s main plate and bridges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking at the front of the dial, you see the heavily cratered “near side” of the moon. Turn the watch over, and the sapphire crystal caseback reveals the mysterious “far side”\u2014a view no human had ever witnessed before Apollo 8.<\/span><\/p>\n
