Watches may appear small on the big screen but they don’t go unnoticed. In fact, they’re one of the costume department’s favorite ways to build up a character, as they can tell the audience so much about his personality and social standing.<\/p>\n

However, with many moving parts on the set, watches can often be a source of cinematic gaffes. Rolex has been a part of many movies; and there have been times when the chosen model doesn’t fit the milieu. They didn’t escape the prying eyes of watch fans, of course.<\/p>\n

Ben Affleck’s Rolex Deepsea\u00a0in\u00a0Argo\u00a0<\/em>(2012)<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Based on true events,\u00a0Argo<\/em>\u00a0chronicles the life-or-death rescue operation of six\u00a0Americans from the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. Ben Affleck is cast as Tony Mendez, the real-life secret agent tasked to bring them back to America.<\/p>\n

The hostage crisis took place from 1979 to 1981, and the entire cast was dressed for the period.
