The Rolex Air-King<\/a> started ticking in the 1940s, and for most of its very long history, was the simplest Rolex there was.<\/p>\n

With no date, a screw-down crown, an Oyster case and chronometer movement, it had everything that made a Rolex, a Rolex. It was the Rolex for purists and for those new to the brand, until it was discontinued in 2014.<\/p>\n

In 2016, the Air-King returned \u2013 in a much more extroverted style. The newer Air-King 40 reference 116900 is definitely not your father\u2019s Rolex Air-King.<\/p>\n

1. New modern size<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The bigger case size of the Air-King 116900 was one of the far more accepted changes to it. Older versions of the Air-King measured 34mm, which is small by today\u2019s standards.<\/p>\n

By using the same 40mm case as the Rolex Milgauss<\/a>, the new Air-King has the same size and proportions as most of Rolex\u2019s sport watches. Its thickness also gives it more presence on the wrist \u2013 a solid reminder that this watch is now part of Rolex\u2019s Professional line.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
