Breitling traces its roots to making precision instruments, made especially for pilots and military use. When it comes to aviation watches, there\u2019s no doubt that the Breitling Navitimer<\/a> is on top of the list.<\/p>\n

While the Navitimer is still best known as a technical and highly-accurate chronograph, Breitling has also made strides in bringing its reach beyond the aviation crowd. This has become especially true since Georges Kern took over in 2017. Aside from organizing the products into air, land, and sea models, they also launched watches that were appealing to both men and women.<\/p>\n

One such offering is the Breitling Navitimer<\/a> 1 Automatic. It successfully evolved the design language of the iconic Navitimer,\u00a0into an approachable and stylish time and date watch. DESIGN<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Upon its launch in 2018, Breitling fans immediately noticed the absence of the chronograph function on the Navitimer 1 Automatic. It was also introduced in a midsized 38mm case. Clearly, it was created as an everyday watch with mass market appeal.<\/p>\n

While there is no chronograph, Breitling included the iconic slide rule bezel and affectionate nods to two vintage Navitimers. The rice bead-style bezel was inspired by the Navitimer ref 806, while the clean three-hand dial is a reference to the Navitimer ref 66.<\/p>\n

Baton hour markers and strategically placed red details on the index markers and seconds hand make for a sleek look.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

VARIATIONS<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Breitling Navitimer<\/a> 1 Automatic offers a wide range of variations. It was introduced in a 38mm case size in 2018, making it as much of a lady\u2019s watch as it is a gentleman\u2019s. This was followed by a 41mm version in 2019; and finally a 35mm ladies\u2019 version in 2020.<\/p>\n

All Navitimer 1 Automatic watches come with a choice of a stainless steel case and bezel or a combination of stainless steel and 18k red gold.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Each size also comes with a choice of versatile black, blue, and silver dials. An anthracite dial is made available in the 41mm range, while the ladies range comes with a choice of a copper dial or a diamond-set mother of pearl dial.<\/p>\n

The Navitimer 1 Automatic is powered by the Breitling 17 movement. This caliber is not produced in-house, but is based on one of the most time-tested movements in Swiss watchmaking \u2013 the ETA 2824-2. The COSC chronometer certified movement offers a power reserve of 38 hours and performs with an accuracy of -4 and +6 seconds per day.<\/p>\n
