The inaugural Rolex Submariner<\/a> in white gold (ref 116619) was introduced in 2008, in time for Rolex\u2019s 100th\u00a0<\/sup>anniversary. This comes a few years after Rolex established their own foundry, so the metals used for this model was forged by Rolex itself.<\/p>\n

The white gold finish used for this model is often dubbed \u201cGrey Gold\u201d due to its darker appearance and more matte finish. The hard-wearing gold does not need replating either.
