Fine timepieces are precision mechanisms which require routine maintenance and repair. SwissWatchExpo offers a full range of services, from basic maintenance to major repairs and restorations. Repair estimates are always provided free of charge.

It is increasingly hard to find a reliable, qualified watchmaker. There are only about 6,000 trained timepiece technicians left in the U.S. SwissWatchExpo stands ready, as it has for many years, to provide loving care to your treasured timepiece.

When you choose SwissWatchExpo, you can be sure that a trained master watchmaker will handle your watch from start to finish.

All Repairs Performed In-House

Our service division is the foundation of our company. Every pre-owned watch that we offer for sale must first be inspected and sometimes restored by our trained watchmakers.

So our entire business depends on having an elite staff of proficient horologists. That same team is available to service your watch when it needs maintenance or repair.

All watch repairs are performed in-house by our own technicians. We are one of the very few stores in the Atlanta area that performs in-house watch repair of luxury timepieces. We have invested thousands of dollars in our state-of-the-art service center.

Luxury watches are our only business, so we stay on the cutting edge of the industry. We have the most modern horological equipment, all the up-to-the-minute product knowledge, and a comprehensive inventory of manufacturer’s original replacement parts.

We employ only professionally trained watchmakers. Our team has more than 100 years of combined watch repair experience. We repair all Swiss luxury brands, and Rolex is our specialty.

Servicing Your Rolex

Rolex watches are made using the finest materials and assembled with great attention to detail. As with all fine timepieces, periodic service is recommended to maintain their accuracy, waterproofness, and aesthetics. At SwissWatchExpo, we stand ready to provide expert care to your timepiece.

Our watch maintenance and repair services are unbeatable. We've put together a flawless process that begins the moment we receive your watch, so you can rest assured your watch will be properly protected and handled the entire time it is with us.

SwissWatchExpo is proud of our stringent 9-point repair checklist:

Preparation for Servicing

1.        When your timepiece arrives at our facility, we will immediately inspect your watch, recording the case number, serial number, dial color, bracelet style, number of links, distinguishing characteristics and the watch’s condition.
2.        A trained technician opens the watch to inspect its condition and prepare a repair estimate. This is done free of charge. If you choose to not proceed with the repair, we will send it back at no cost to you except for shipping.

The Servicing Process

3.        Once you approve the repair, we will get started. Most watches are repaired within 14 working days. Vintage watches and watches with serious damage may take longer.
4.        Our first step is to completely disassemble the watch. We identify worn-out parts and replace them. We give your watch a thorough cleaning. The movement is reassembled and lubricated, using five different viscosity oils and lubricants. The case and bracelet are refinished to like-new condition.
5.        Then we regulate your watch using our state-of-the-art timing machine.
6.        To improve the self-winding ability of your watch, we use Fix-O-Drop watch oil.
7.        We always replace old acrylic crystals with new ones, no exceptions.
8.        Finally, we replace all gaskets to ensure the seal is as good as new.
9.        After we return your newly restored movement into its newly refinished case, your watch is checked for water resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I look after my Rolex?

Proper storage and regular upkeep will help conserve the beauty and function of your Rolex watch. To preserve its luster, regularly wipe your watch clean using a microfiber cloth. You can also wash the case and bracelet from time to time using soapy water. Should you use your watch in the sea, it is important to rinse it with fresh water afterwards to prevent salt and sand build up. Before exposing your watch to water, ensure that the winding crown is screwed down against the case to ensure waterproofness. For more information, here’s How to Clean Your Watch.

Can a Rolex be polished?

Polishing of your Rolex watch is best left to professionals. Polishing is a part of the maintenance and repair process, and is done to keep unavoidable scratches at bay. Over-polishing a watch can damage it and affect its value, hence the process should only be done by a trained professional

Servicing your Rolex

How often should my Rolex watch be serviced?

Rolex recommends professional servicing every 10 years, but this all depends on real-life usage of the timepiece. If your watch is worn daily or is exposed to water and other elements, it is generally recommended to have watches serviced every 3-5 years. However, there are some signs that your watch needs a service sooner rather than later. Here are Signs It's Time for Watch Maintenance.

What does a Rolex service consist of?

When you send us your Rolex for a service, the watch will be completely disassembled, and each part thoroughly but carefully cleaned.

Each individual component will be assessed and those that have been worn out will be replaced with 100% authentic Rolex watch parts. The movement is reassembled and lubricated, then electronically tested to time its accuracy. The case and bracelet are refinished to restore their shine, and all acrylic crystals and gaskets are replaced with new ones.

Finally, the newly restored movement will be put back into its refinished case, and technical tests will be performed to ensure your watch’s waterproofness and precision.

How much does servicing a Rolex cost?

The service cost will depend on your watch model and its current condition. Upon receiving your watch, it will be examined by our master watchmakers, who will draw up a repair estimate free of charge. Only when the estimate is approved shall we begin any servicing and repair work.

While servicing a Rolex doesn’t usually come cheap, it is necessary to maintain your watch’s accuracy, waterproofness, and aesthetics.

How long does a service take?

Most watches are repaired within 14 working days, but vintage watches – which require special parts – and those with more serious damage, may take longer.
