The Watches of Jamie Foxx

Singer, actor, and producer Jamie Foxx began his career as a stand-up comedian, but he has comfortably crossed over to music and film. In fact, he even has an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA award for his role in the 2004 biographical film Ray.

We’ll be seeing more of Jamie this year as he is set to play the legendary heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson in a biopic. We’ll sure be on the lookout for any timepieces he’ll wear in the movie, but for now, let’s look back at the watches he has worn, on and off screen:

The watch that is constantly on Jamie’s wrist these days is the Rolex President Day-Date. The model he wears is an 18k yellow gold edition with matching champagne dial and diamond hour markers. While the Rolex Day-Date was created as a formalwear timepiece, many have taken to wearing it with casual wear, just like Jamie. Either way, wearing a Day-Date is always a power move. The most unique and eye-catching timepiece we’ve seen on Jamie so far is an iced-out Rolex Datejust with a blue dial. Diamonds pave the entire case, bracelet and yellow gold center links, while the blue dial is dotted with diamond hour markers. Video from The Hollywood Reporter on YouTube

Jamie also wears the ever versatile Rolex Submariner stainless steel model. Featuring a waterproof 40mm Oyster case, signature screw down crown, a sleek Cerachrom bezel, and a handsome black dial, this classic can be worn both in the great outdoors and while closing business deals. Jamie starred alongside Colin Farrell in the film adaptation of the popular 1980s television series Miami Vice. To reflect the modern take on the television series, the film worked with IWC for its character’s timepieces.

Jamie wore a black dial IWC Portuguese Chrono throughout the film; while he switched to a silver dial version with rose gold hour markers for the press tour. IWC also created a limited edition IWC Portuguese Miami Vice watch, with the title of the film engraved on the case back. Jamie also starred in the modern adaptation of the Broadway favorite Annie. He played William “Will” Stacks, a modification of the plays’ Daddy Warbucks, a successful entrepreneur who’s also aspiring for public office.
