Anthony Bourdain’s Watch Collection

Anthony Bourdain’s Watch Collection

|
It’s been a year since the passing of Anthony Bourdain, chef and world traveler extraordinaire. Remembered for his travelogue-style food programs, Anthony showed us that one can enjoy the best of the world while being authentic and down-to-earth.

His everyman sensibilities was reflected in his cooking, travel, and even his everyday style. Let’s take a look at the timepieces that graced his wrist:

Rolex Datejust

Anthony wore a Rolex Datejust II in many episodes of No Reservations. His stainless steel watch is outfitted with a blue dial and luminous baton hour markers. The highly durable material, smooth bezel and simple dial goes with many different looks, and will look like new for years to come.

Radiomir

Panerai Radiomir

Panerai is known for their massive dive watches. The Radiomir is the ideal choice for those who want a Panerai with a thinner, sleeker case. It comes without the crown protector and with thinner wire lugs, offering a streamlined look while still being robust.

Explorer I

Rolex Explorer

The Explorer is one of the most versatile sport watches from Rolex. The smooth bezel and simple dial with luminous 3-6-9 Arabic numerals and baton hour markers make for a watch that can be used anywhere. Anthony could have worn this watch from formal meetings to weekend jaunts, and even up in the Himalayas, and it still would have looked good.

Oyster Perpetual

Rolex Oyster Perpetual

Anthony’s favorite timepiece was the one that his father passed on to him – a vintage, stainless steel Rolex. Anthony never made a reference as to what model the watch was, but it looks very much like an Oyster Perpetual. He wore this timepiece more than any other, and fans of his travelogues would have definitely noticed.

Milgauss

Rolex Milgauss

Anthony’s Rolex Milgauss is perhaps his most ornate timepiece. He wore a custom PVD blacked-out version, which accentuated the green crystal and bright orange details of the watch. Despite its playful design, the Milgauss is a very accurate timepiece – designed as an anti-magnetic watch for scientists, it can resist up to 1,000 gauss.
