Precious metals and gemstones
Aside from having an immaculate design, the Rolex Pearlmaster is made exclusively in 18k yellow, white, and Everose gold, while the gems used are diamonds, sapphire, or rubies. While Rolex usually adorns the dial with gems, the Pearlmaster’s gems are not just found on the dial, but also on the case, bezel, or bracelet. These range from dashes of diamonds on the bezel to full pavé treatment.
Just like the Datejust, the Pearlmaster line offers great variety. The original Pearlmasters came in two sizes; 34mm and 29mm. Dials ranged from the usual silver, champagne, and white to more exotic mother of pearl and vignette dials.
In 2015, a 39mm Pearlmaster was also launched, a move that came with the general direction of the rest of Rolex’s models. It came with a choice of a red grape, olive green or cognac sunburst dial and graduating trapezoidal sapphires on the bezel.
