Best Watches at 2021 Golden Globes

Hollywood made the most of what was the first bi-coastal Golden Globes ceremony ever. These being pandemic times, the setting was a bit different: there was an actual red carpet for those presenting, while the rest of the guests had to participate virtually, from their living rooms and hotel suites.

Even without much of a red carpet to speak of, the glamour was still there. Stars and stylists delivered epic looks, which of course, would not be complete without a great watch to finish them off. Here are the best watches we spotted in this year’s Golden Globes.

This Is Us star Sterling K. Brown presented the award for best TV series – musical or comedy. The actor looked dapper in a tailored navy suit by Dior Men, and added a bit of edge with the Rolex Submariner. Nicholas Hoult was nominated for Best Actor in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy for his role in the Hulu comedy series, The Great. A friend of the brand, Nicholas went for a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso in 18k rose gold. It was an eventful night for Sacha Baron Cohen, who took home two Golden Globe awards – one for best actor in a musical or comedy and another for best comedy or musical, which he accepted on behalf of Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. He donned an all-gray ensemble, which was complemented beautifully by his Omega Speedmaster MoonWatch. Schitt’s Creek star and producer, Dan Levy not only made a compelling speech while accepting their Best Television Series award – he also stood out in a sea of neutral palettes, with his chartreuse Valentino Couture ensemble. Such an opulent attire called for an equally elegant watch, and any timepiece from the house of Cartier would have fit the bill. His choice was a large stainless steel Cartier Santos. Dan wasn’t the only Levy with serious hardware on his wrist. His dad Eugene sported a very cool Omega Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon watch. This timepiece features a grey ceramic body, 18k Sedna Gold touches and actual slices of Gibeon meteorite on its dial. Presenter Justin Theroux looked dashing in a suave velvet suit, which he paired with an eye-catching Rolex Submariner in solid 18k yellow gold. This particular timepiece is quite sentimental for Theroux, who specifically hunted for a Sub produced on his birth year, in 1971. Josh O’Connor, who played Prince Charles in Netflix’s The Crown, brought home the Best Actor in a Drama TV Series award. O’Connor looked every inch a member of the royal family with his two-button black jacket. His choice timepiece was a Bvlgari Octo Finissimo, which houses one of the world’s thinnest automatic movements.
