2024 Oscars: Our Favorite Watches

In the recent 2024 Academy Awards, the spotlight extended beyond the dazzling red carpet gowns and intricate jewelry, to the exquisite timepieces adorning the wrists of the stars. From timeless classics to avant-garde pieces, the lineup of watches elevated the allure and style of Hollywood’s brightest. Here’s a recap of our favorite watches from the 2024 Oscars.

Dwyane Wade – Cartier Tank Must

The 2024 Oscars were unlike any other night for Dwyane Wade. It was his first time going as an Academy Award nominee for his co-produced film, The Barber of Little Rock. To mark the occasion, the basketball star wore a custom Versace attire and a no-nonsense Cartier Tank Must.

Dwyane chose the steel model in the Extra-Large size, measuring 31mm x 41mm. Cartier hallmark traits are present on its silver opaline dial such as the railroad minute track and printed Roman numerals. Robert Downey Jr. – Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph

Robert Downey Jr. notched his first Oscars win this year for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in the hit thriller film Oppenheimer. He did so donning a pink gold Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph – a nice compliment to his golden statuette for best supporting actor.

Launched in 2023, this watch honors the Reverso Chronograph Retrograde of 1996, which helped solidify JLC’s reputation as a master of complications. It has a black primary time display on one side and an open-worked dial revealing the Caliber 860 on the other. Ryan Gosling – TAG Heuer Plasma Diamant D’ Avant Garde

Ryan Gosling walked the red carpet with one of TAG Heuer’s latest styles on his wrist: the Carrera Plasma Diamant d’Avant Garde. This watch boasts white and pink lab-grown diamonds on the face and crown, which echo the shimmer on the actor’s tuxedo. Its body is crafted in 18k white gold, while the dial itself is a sparkling polycrystalline diamond plate, accented with skeletonized hands. A black alligator leather strap completes the look. Roger Federer – Rolex Daytona Le Mans

For his second Oscars appearance, Rolex ambassador Roger Federer was spotted wearing the Daytona ‘Le Mans’ from 2023. Crafted in white gold, this iteration of the famed racing watch was launched to mark the 100th year of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The dial evokes vintage Paul Newman models with its black backdrop and square markers on the white sub-dials. Da’Vine Joy Randolph – Omega Constellation Meteorite

Da’Vine Joy Randolph, the night’s best supporting actress winner for The Holdovers, sparkled in a custom gown baby blue gown by Louis Vuitton. She accessorized her look with an Omega Constellation in stainless steel.

Ke Huy Quan – Cartier Santos Dumont Skeleton Micro-Rotor

One can always count on Ke Huy Quan to put together a cool look on the red carpet and the 2024 Oscars were no different. The American actor sported an attention-grabbing Cartier Santos Dumont Skeleton with a yellow gold finish. 

Limited to 150 examples, this Santos-Dumont utilizes a deep blue lacquer on the exteriors. Its Caliber 9629 MC boasts 212 components including a micro-rotor resembling Alberto Santos-Dumont’s lightweight “Demoiselle” plane. Cillian Murphy – Omega DeVille Prestige

Newly-minted Best Actor Cillian Murphy masters natural cool on the red carpet wearing a retro-inspired Versace tweed suit. He completed his look with a gleaming brooch and a sleek Omega DeVille Prestige.

An elegant respite from the brand’s thicker offerings, the watch comes in a streamlined steel case measuring 41mm. This creates a dramatic contrast against the vertically patterned pine green dial with yellow gold-plated markers. Powering the watch is the Caliber 8802, which offers a 55-hour power reserve. Brendan Fraser – Omega Constellation

Brendan Fraser returned to this year’s Oscars as a presenter after bagging the Best Actor accolade in 2023. The actor looked dashing in a well-tailored suit and added a bit of color with the Omega Constellation Sedna Gold. John Cena also posed up a storm as the presenter for the best costume design at the 2024 Oscars. He appeared on stage wearing only a modesty garment and his Rolex Explorer II.

The wrestler-turned-actor has the 2011 iteration, released to honor the 40th year of the collection. It features a Maxi white dial with larger markers and the Caliber 3187 that reflects Rolex’s recent innovations.
