Ed Sheeran’s Watches

Ed Sheeran’s Watch Collection
|

With Ed Sheeran’s youthful looks, mainstream music, and casual style, one would be surprised to find out that he has exceptional taste in mechanical watches.

The English pop hitmaker has surprised – and impressed – seasoned watch collectors the world over with his eccentric but tasteful collection of watches. Check out the choice timepieces of the four-time Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter:

Yachtmaster 40 Everose

Rolex Yachtmaster 40 Everose Gold

The Rolex Yachtmaster 40 in Everose Gold was the first Rolex spotted on Ed. The stylish timepiece combines modern design with updated Rolex features: an 18k Everose gold construction, matte black Cerachrom ceramic insert bezel, and a matte black dial with luminous hour markers and sweeping hands in rose gold.

It’s also the first Rolex to be equipped with the Oysterflex strap. Not just any rubber strap, the Oysterflex has a titanium-nickel metal alloy blade at its center, for optimum durability.

Luminor 1950 Marina PAM 312

Panerai Luminor Marina

The Panerai Luminor Marina is one of Ed’s simpler timepieces. The 44mm cushion-shaped case is paired with a minimalistic black dial. Luminous stick hour markers, Arabic numerals at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, and a small seconds subdial at 9, are the only embellishments on this classic timepiece.

Ed is a huge fan of highly complicated, and eye-catching Richard Mille timepieces. At left is the Richard Mille RM 030 Americas Limited Edition, with a black case made of carbon nanotubes and orange accents on the dial and crown.

Patek World Time Complications

Patek Philippe World Time Complications

Ed wore an 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe World Time Complications watch when he was bestowed the MBE award by the Queen of England. MBE stands for Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and he was given the honor for his contributions to music.

The Patek Philippe World Time Complications features a concentric chapter ring calibrated for 24 hours, and divided into diurnal and nocturnal hours; plus an outer ring showing 24 world cities.

Some of Ed’s favorite timepieces are from Patek Philippe. At left is the Patek Philippe Nautilus ref 5726A, an annual calendar stainless steel watch with a black strap, which he says is his most worn watch.

Daytona Ceramic White Dial

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Ed has three Rolex Daytona models in his collection – the latest one being the ceramic bezel, stainless steel ref 116500LN. The much anticipated model combines the classic look of the stainless steel Daytona, this time with the scratch and fade-proof Cerachrom bezel.

Ed also has two other Daytona heavyweights in his collection: the Rolex Paul Newman Daytona, worn on a bund strap; and a Rainbow bezel Rolex Daytona in white gold.

Heritage Black Bay

Tudor Heritage Black Bay

Ed made headlines earlier this year when he bought his entire crew their own Tudor Heritage Black Bay watches, to celebrate the end of his “Divide” tour. The custom-engraved watch has about 80 in existence, and it’s also Ed’s everyday watch while off tour.

Tudor released the Heritage Black Bay in 2012 – a vintage-inspired watch that aimed to catch the essence behind vintage Tudor dive watches.

Ed loves blacked out Audemars Piguet pieces. At left, the titanium and ceramic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak GMT Tourbillon Concept has redesigned bridges connecting the case to the strap.
