The Watches of Andre Iguodala

NBA veteran and former MVP Andre Iguodala has been collecting watches for almost two decades now. The Golden State Warriors’ small forward bought his first watch in 2004 after being drafted for the NBA, and hasn’t stopped since.

Today, his collection runs the gamut from dressy Rolex watches to sporty Audemars Piguet and Ulysse Nardin pieces. Check out the watches of Andre Iguodala:

Rolex Day-Date Masterpiece Special Edition Platinum Diamond Mens Watch 18946

Rolex Masterpiece Platinum

One of Andre’s favorite timepieces is the Rolex Masterpiece, introduced in 1992 as a cross between the Pearlmaster and the Day-Date. He bought this rare timepiece to celebrate winning an Olympic gold medal in 2012.

The edition he went for comes in a platinum case, made more eye-catching with the diamond-set bezel and hour markers. The Rolex Day-Date’s hallmark traits also remained, such as two apertures to indicate the date and the day of the week in full, and month, but what gives this watch away is the curvy Pearlmaster bracelet with five-piece links and a concealed Crownclasp.

Rolex Sky-Dweller Rose Gold White Dial Mens Watch 326935

Rolex Sky-Dweller Everose

In his interview with Hodinkee, Andre said that he had never wanted a Rolex. He had seen so many Day-Dates throughout the NBA league that he didn’t believe it was notable. As he learned more about watches, he grew to appreciate Rolex as a brand and purchased a Sky-Dweller in rose gold.

His choice model pairs Everose gold with an ivory dial, topped with raised Roman numerals. The Rolex Sky-Dweller also ingeniously combines a date display, a dual-time register, and an annual calendar in one timepiece. Powering this sophisticated utility watch is the Caliber 9001 with a 72-hour power reserve, while the fluted Ring Command bezel lends interest and activates the Sky-Dweller’s various functions. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rose Gold Everose Mens Watch 116515

Rolex Daytona Everose

We’ve also spotted Andre with the Rolex Daytona – one of the most coveted pieces in the brand’s lineup. An intriguing take on the classic Daytona, his choice model foregoes the typical steel design in favor of the gleaming Everose gold.

While the Daytona chronograph is sporty in nature, the ref. 116515 brings a more opulent element to the series with rose gold details found on the case, dial, and black Cerachrom tachymeter bezel. Instead of the Oysterflex bracelet, Andre also pairs his Daytona with a leather strap, which adds a nice, dressy touch. Video from Andre Iguodala on Instagram

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Black Dial Steel Mens Watch 15300

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

Andre’s dream watch was a stainless-steel Royal Oak (ref. 15300), and it was the timepiece he most remembered buying. He considered this the most expensive thing he had ever bought at the time, and despite the fact that he could afford to pay the full price, he went into the AP boutique and requested a down payment.

The black dial with AP’s signature Tapisserie waffle pattern and luminous baton indices and hands pairs well with just about anything, while the AP logo at 12 gives the watch a more modern feel. Thanks to its thin case, the ref. 15300 also slips well under shirt cuffs.

Andre also wears the brawnier and more masculine counterpart of the Royal Oak – the Royal Oak Offshore. Nicknamed ‘The Beast’ due to its massive proportions and rugged construction, this watch is characterized by a larger Mega Tapisserie dial, ceramic crowns, and raised Arabic numerals.

The NBA veteran also has the Royal Oak Offshore in yellow gold which he calls “too heavy” due to its solid gold construction. This watch has sporty touches that complement the precious metal: exposed screws on the bezel and blue rubberized crowns and pushers. A white Mega Tapisserie dial with a black central seconds hand completes the look. Photos from Phillips and Andre Iguodala on Instagram

Panerai Luminor 1950 8 Days GMT 24H Ceramic Watch PAM00317

Panerai Luminor Ceramic

In his Talking Watches interview with Hodinkee, Andre revealed that he was wearing a Panerai Luminor on the night he was drafted into the NBA. That watch was later stolen from his locker during a game at Madison Square Garden, but Panerai remains a favorite watch brand of his.

Andre’s preferred model, the Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante 8 Days GMT Ceramica, was launched in 2018 and is well-loved for its understated appeal. It comes in ceramic and is powered by the Caliber 2004 – Panerai’s first in-house chronograph movement. Worn on a black leather strap with a ceramic tang buckle, the PAM317 is as versatile as it gets.

Ulysse Nardin Freak Vision Ref. 2305-270

Ulysse Nardin Skeleton X

On his cover for Haute Living magazine, Andre wore an open-worked Ulysse Nardin Blast Skeleton X in Carbonium Gold. This timepiece is crafted from Carbonium – Ulysse Nardin’s proprietary sustainable material that combines carbon and gold. Aside from delivering advanced technical performance and remarkable resistance-to-lightness ratio, Carbonium has a unique marble pattern that is obtained through a high-pressure process.

The full skeleton gold dial allows wearers to view the intricate manual-wind movement with a tourbillon at work while complementing gold and pink accents offer stunning contrast against the black dial frame and minute track. Photos from Ulysse Nardin and Ulysse Nardin on Twitter
