Cartier Colisee Collection

Produced from the late 1970s until the 1990s, the Colisee is a rare, vintage Cartier jewelry watch. Cartier Colisee timepieces are part of a collection of eyeglasses, rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets that all featured bombé-style curves. The Cartier Colisee watch combines these characteristic curves with T-shaped Art Deco style lugs and supple link bracelets, resulting in a timepiece that wears like fine jewelry.

Cartier Colisee dials have everything one comes to love from Cartier – the egg shell dial, painted black Roman numerals, a discreet Cartier signature at 10 o’clock, and blued steel hands to match the signature sapphire cabochon.

The Cartier Colisee watch was presented in a few varieties as follows:

Cartier Colisee Trinity – a version of the Colisee watch with a “Trinity” dial, featuring two raised semi-circles in rose gold, white gold, and yellow gold. These take after the Trinity line of Cartier, which is presented in three types of gold, symbolizing love, friendship, and fidelity

Cartier Must Colisee – as part of the Must de Cartier line launched in the 1970s, this version is presented in vermeil or gold gilded silver. The Must de Cartier collection aimed to present the house’s best designs in more affordable metals.

Cartier Colisee Casque d’Or – this version of the Colisee features the Casque d’Or bracelet, which loosely translated means “helmet of gold”. Multiple rows of rings melt into each other to form one solid bracelet. While the name mentions gold, this version of the Colisee was also produced in two-tone, steel and yellow gold editions.

Cartier Colisee Pave Diamonds – the most luxurious iteration of the Colisee. This distinctive model dazzles with approximately 108 high-quality diamonds – three rows around the bezel, and another row around the lug attachment. The bracelet is formed by five rows of gold beads, inspired by pearl-bead chokers which were all the range in the Art Deco period. While sapphires are often used on the cabochon of Cartier watches, this model has a single diamond on the crown. This model is most commonly produced in 18k yellow gold, but there are very rare 18k white gold editions.

Cartier Colisee watches measure 23.8mm in diameter, and keep reliable time with quartz movements.
